The technical side of online gambling accounts in Kenya
WebTech Kenya explains how payments, player accounts, apps and personal data work in licensed online gambling in Kenya, and points each rule back to the Act, the regulations or an official page.
This site is for adults only. Gambling is addictive and is not a way to earn money. If it stops being a pastime, call GRA toll-free 0800-723-770 or read about help and self-exclusion.

How to use this site
- Pick the part of the account you have a question about
The menu is split into money (deposits, withdrawals, tax), the account itself (registration, security, apps) and what happens behind the screen (operator systems, personal data).
- Read the short answer first
Every guide opens with a direct answer in a few lines, then the detail, a table and a set of questions.
- Check the section numbers
Rules are quoted with their section or regulation number, written like
s.70(1)orr.85, so that you can find the same words in the source. - Open the sources list
Fees, limits and tax rates change. The sources list at the end of each guide shows which official page was read and on what date. Check that page again before you rely on a number.
What this site does not do
There are no operator reviews, no lists of "which site to choose", no bonus pages and no outgoing links to gambling companies. Kenyan law treats the promotion of gambling as advertising that needs the regulator's approval, and this site has not applied for any. The editorial policy and the page on how the site is funded set this out in full.
Questions and answers
Does WebTech Kenya recommend or rank betting companies?
No. The site carries no rankings, ratings, bonuses or links to operators. Operators appear only where a guide refers to the regulator's published list, and then only as plain register facts.
Where do the rules quoted on this site come from?
From the Gambling Control Act, 2025, the 2026 regulations made under it, the statutes consolidated on Kenya Law, and official pages of the Gambling Regulatory Authority, the Central Bank of Kenya, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and the mobile network operators. Each guide lists its sources with the date they were read.
Why do some guides leave out fees and limits?
Charges and limits change. A figure appears only when it was read on the official page on the date shown in the sources list. Where that was not possible, the guide explains the mechanism and names the page where the current figure is published.
Who is this site for?
Adults aged 18 and over in Kenya who already hold, or are thinking about, an account with a licensed operator and want to understand how the money, identity checks and data handling work. It is not for anyone under 18.
What should I do if gambling is causing me harm?
Call the Gambling Regulatory Authority toll-free line on 0800-723-770 and read the responsible gambling page on this site, which describes the self-exclusion process under section 115 of the Act.
